HANDS ON FASSBINDER – #2 IMAGES OF HISTORY

The series of events taking place in 2012 under the umbrella title of HANDS ON FASSBINDER is a collective project mounted by the German film journal REVOLVER, the Collegium Hungaricum Berlin (.CHB), the Berlin cinema Zeughauskino, the RWFF and the German Federal Agency for Civic Education. The project has been made possible by a grant from the German Capital Cultural Fund.

Hanna Schygulla (b. 1943) and Geza Beremenyi (b. 1946), two prominent representatives of the “Fassbinder generation,” will speak about their lives in film and history from the 1940s to the present. Moderator: Janos Can Togay (.CHB)

Thomas Heise in conversation with Saskia Walker (REVOLVER)

In 1992, in the wake of a series of radical right-wing attacks and associated media reports, Heise began making a series of documentaries about family histories in Central Germany. How does one bear witness to a time? The discussion will be structured around selected excerpts from his films.
