Fassbinder: Berlin Alexanderplatz. A Catalogue edited by Klaus Biesenbach

Fassbinder’s “Berlin Alexanderplatz” has just appeared as a book (in German). Apart from hundreds of color photographs and essays by Rainer Werner Fassbinder, Susan Sontag, and Klaus Biesenbach, the tome also contains the famous script (first published by the publisher “2001”) as well as RWF’s biography, filmography, and selected bibliography.

This coming fall will also finally see the long-awaited publication of the English version. The latter is to coincide with a special exhibition of the same title at New York’s MoMA, curated by Klaus Biesenbach. This will be the welcome opportunity for many RWF aficionados to read the script for the very first time … we have only just finished translating it.
