The Genius of Berlin, Essay by Ian Buruma
Before the year 2007 is just coming to end we would like to forward a marvellous essay by Ian Buruma to all our friends, supporters. lovers and re-descoverers of RWF´s ouvre. This very special essay is published in the newest edition of THE NEW YORK REVIEW OF BOOKS (Volumne 55, Nr 1, January 17, 2008) and you can learn from it all what you should know about Döblin´s novel, Fassbinder´s film, and the DVD-edition, published by the Criterion Collection as well about the art exhibition at PS1, New York (first station was Berlin at KW-Instiute of Contemporary Art, in March until Mai. 2007) and the book, edited by Klaus Biesenbach (Curator of the art exhibition Fassbinder: Berlin Alexanderplatz) which accompagnies the show and was published by KW-Institute of Contemporary Art, Berlin in cooperation with MoMA/PS1, and supported by the Fassbinder Foundation.
We all wish you a lot of pleasure reading this splendid essay, a lot of new future discoveries in Fassbinder´s artistic oeuvre, a wonderful New Year´s Eve riding and a very succesful new year 2008.
