DVD edition with "GERMANY IN AUTUMN" and "THE THIRD GENERATION" from a dramatic era of German history
As we reported already on our web site in the spring of 2008, Kinowelt has released a compilation of six DVDs with the most important films on the subject of terrorism in a compact box set entitled "Germany’s Autumn". In the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung dated 17 September 2008, the cinematic works featured in the compilation are reviewed again from the point of view of directors active today. Through this special DVD edition, the current debate taking place against the background of the cinema release of THE BAADER MEINHOF COMPLEX by Bernd Eichinger and Uli Edel, is illustrated with substantiated cinematic images from the dramatic era in question. The joint authors of the article, Tom Tykwer, Romuald Karmakar, Hans Steinbichler, Dominik Graf and Nicolette Krebitz (along with others) are themselves currently working on an omnibus film entitled GERMANY 09 in the style of GERMANY IN AUTUMN (1978).
