Exhibition Fassbinder: BERLIN ALEXANDERPLATZ held in New York is awarded a prize

Art critics select curator Klaus Biesenbach for the AICA Award

In 2007, Klaus Biesenbach, curator in charge of MoMA’s Department of Media, organized the successful exhibition Fassbinder: BERLIN ALEXANDERPLATZ. First conceived for Berlin’s KW-Institute of Contemporary Art, the next stop was MoMA/P.S. 1 in New York, where Biesenbach has now received the AICA Award. The international association of art critics awarded him second prize in the category “best exhibition of digital media, video or film” for his concept of the show and its implementation. Due to its success, the exhibition was extended for four weeks in January 2008.

The American section of AICA is comprised of more than 400 voting members. The ceremony of the highly prestigious award, bestowed for the 25th time, was held at New York City’s Guggenheim Museum.
