Irm Hermann Awarded the Deutscher Hörbuchpreis (German Audio Book Award)

Irm Hermann voted “best interpreter” 2009 for her role as Emmy Göring

Irm Hermann is awarded the German Audio Book Award 2009 for her role in Werner Fritsch’s Enigma Emmy Göring. The award ceremony takes place on March 15 as part of Cologne’s “lit. COLOGNE,” an international literature festival.

The jury explains its decision as follows:

“Distinguished for her numerous awards, in this satyr play entitled Enigma Emmy Göring the actress Irm Hermann personifies the Nazi’s wife with spirited verve. Hers is a furious monologue that demonstrates how cunningly staged her apparent naïveté was. From behind the petty and banal façade Irm Hermann shows an evil lust for power.”
