Karl Scheydt dead
Starting in 1970, he starred in numerous Fassbinder movies
We recently received the news that the actor Karl Scheydt died on April 30, 2009 at the age of 69. One of his most famous roles is undoubtedly the Vietnam veteran Ricky in THE AMERICAN SOLDIER (1970). Other unforgettable portrayals include THE MERCHANT OF FOUR SEASONS (1971), EIGHT HOURS DON’T MAKE A DAY (1972) and IN A YEAR WITH 13 MOONS (1978). In addition, he also worked on the camera and production teams of various Fassbinder films. In IN A YEAR WITH 13 MOONS he was the chief lighting technician.
