“Why Does Herr R. Run Amok?” to premiere in Switzerland
Starting September 25 in Zurich’s Schauspielhaus am Pfauen
The first stage adaptation of the Rainer Werner Fassbinder / Michael Fengler movie of the same title was created under Michael Thalheimer’s direction and produced for 2003-04 season of the Schauspiel Frankfurt.
Heike M. Goetze is the director of the Swiss premiere, which takes place on the stage of the Schauspielhaus’ Pfauen. She promises to give “hundreds of answers and none at all” to the question “Why Does Herr R. Run Amok?”.
In 2008, the Körber Foundation awarded Heike M. Goetze their prize for the best emerging director. The Fassbinder piece is also her debut at Zurich’s Schauspielhaus.
