WORLD ON A WIRE in Melbourne
On August 1 and 4 at the Melbourne International Film Festival
The tour of Fassbinder’s newly restored two-part masterpiece will soon reach the Australian festival audience. The 59th Melbourn International Film Festival (MIFF) takes place between July 22 and August 8, 2010. One of the world’s oldest film festivals, this year’s motto is: “It is a question of taste.” Fassbinder’s WORLD ON A WIRE has already been hailed and enthusiastically praised this spring at the Berlinale in Berlin and at New York’s MoMA. MIFF announces two special screenings of the German iconoclast’s masterpiece as the Holy Grail for classic movie aficionados—for the time being it is the only opportunity to see it there: The premiere on the Australian continent takes place on August 1 and 4, 2010. The journey around the world will continue.
