Christiane Maybach passed away
On April 12, 2006 Christiane Maybach died. As all Fassbinder fans know, she appeared in numerous RWF films. Without doubt the most significant role she played was at Fassbinder’s side in “Fox and His friends,” where she is Franz Biberkopf’s sister Hedwig. In his elaborate study of underprivileged members of society Fassbinder brings to light the most diverse facets of this remarkable actress. The film is as valid and fascinating today as when it was first produced more than thirty years ago.
In her long career, Christiane Maybach was one of the important post-war stars of German cinema and early television. She pursued her profession until quite recently, most notably in numerous TV shows. Fox and His Friends
