New DVD edition from US partner Criterion
Special edition of early works plus WORLD ON A WIRE on Blu-ray
The Criterion Collection has just released the DVD box set EARLY FASSBINDER onto the American market. The ECLIPSE SERIES 39 box set includes five films:

KATZELMACHER
GODS OF THE PLAGUE (GÖTTER DER PEST)
THE AMERICAN SOLDIER (DER AMERIKANISCHE SOLDAT)
BEWARE OF THE HOLY WHORE (WARNUNG VOR EINER HEILIGEN NUTTE)
The Eclipse Series is responsible for making many rare, almost forgotten and outstanding classics available on moderately priced DVDs in the US.
Since last year the restored version of the two-part film WORLD ON A WIRE (WELT AM DRAHT) has also been available from Criterion on DVD and Blu-ray. Both editions include Juliane Lorenz’s fifty-minute documentary FASSBINDER’S WORLD ON A WIRE: LOOKING AHEAD TO TODAY.
