“World of Wires” on tour in France
From November 8 in Nantes and from November 13 at the Festival d’Automne, Paris
Following its world premiere in New York in January this year, author and director Jay Scheib’s extraordinary production World of Wires is now coming to Europe. The play will be performed in a number of cities in France in the original language with French subtitles.
The story of the presentation of a computer program able to simulate the world and everything in it is based on Daniel F. Galouye’s novel Simulacron-3. Published in 1964, the novel tells the story of a nervous breakdown suffered by a scientist working on a computer-generated parallel world. This was an idea well ahead of its time. Today we refer to it as virtual reality.
