Celebrating true grandezza: Elisabeth Trissenaar to turn 70
This Sunday, April 13, Elisabeth Trissenaar will be celebrating her 70th birthday. Her collaboration with RWF is going back to his Frankfurt period. Apart from leading roles in films such as THE STATION MASTER’S WIFE and IN A YEAR WITH 13 MOONS her appearances in BERLIN ALEXANDERPLATZ and THE MARRIAGE OF MARIA BRAUN remain unforgotten.
In 1974, she entered the Frankfurt theatre stage under RWF´s direction, starring in Handke’s “Die Unvernünftigen sterben aus / They Are Dying Out” – the first German production and follow-up of the Swiss world premiere. Being one of the most outstanding German-speaking theatre – and film actrices, her name will forever be tied to her life-long artistic partner and husband Hans Neuenfels, in whose numerous productions she made many headlines.
Elisabeth (‘Sissy’) Trissenaar, we salute you.
