RWF on Stage: “Maria Braun” at the Nationaltheater in Mannheim; “Blood on the Cat’s Neck” in Los Angeles
It appears that Fassbinder is as fascinating as ever. A tendency we have witnessed over the last few years continues. Two new theater projects will start very soon:
Mannheim’s Nationaltheater is going to pair the plays “Draußen vor der Tür / The Man Outside” by Wolfgang Borchert with RWF’s “The Marriage of Maria Braun.” Director Dominic Friedel and his team have decided to feature these two icons of German post-war culture in two acts. Premiere 03.08.2014.
The premiere in L.A. is also scheduled for 03.08.2014: The theater TAS (http://www.theatertas.com) will perform “Blood at the Cat’s Neck,” translated by Denis Calandra and directed by Kaca Celan at the local Goethe Institute.
