RWFF News: RWF Retrospective at New York’s Lincoln Center
The name Fassbinder has been well known and popular in the US for decades. The first comprehensive retrospective of his film-oeuvre took place in 1997 at MoMA, preceded by a selection of his movies that were featured at the Sundance Festival.
Now, the Film Society of Lincoln Center, NY is going to celebrate a wide-ranging 2-part RWF retrospective titled FASSBINDER: ROMANTIC ANARCHIST. Dive into phase 1 from May 16 – June 1, showing his early works up to 1974. This is your rare chance to see masterpieces like MARTHA or KATZELMACHER in the original version, with English subtitles, all in their beautiful 16 or 35mm looks as well as the freshly restored “The Merchant of Four Seasons” that will be shown as 2K DCP.
