RWFF News: Udo Kier to receive CineMerit Award
On June 30, exceptional acting talent Udo Kier will be honored with the CineMerit Award at this year´s Munich Filmfest.
His 40 year-old world-spanning mega career got him to focus on the kings of mean and characters of darkness, amongst them: Dr. Jekyll, Dracula, Frankenstein or Jack the Ripper. He blessed over 160 international cinema productions with his outstanding and very own personal presence, and became as supporting actor an unforgettable special part in films of artists and directors like Rainer Werner Fassbinder, Andy Warhol somewhat like a muse to artists and directors like Rainer Werner Fassbinder, Andy Warhol, Gabor Body, Gus Van Sant, Christoph Schlingensief and Lars von Trier.
Alongside the award, the Munich Filmfest will present 6 of his movies in a very dedicated hommage, including the world premiere of his new film ARTEHOLIC (directed by Herrmann Vaske).
