Closing event of the RWF Exhibition in the Munich Theater Museum

The highly successful exhibition on RWF’s work for the theater held at the German Theater Museum in Munich (May 25 – September 9) is now drawing to an end. Its conclusion is being marked on Thursday, September 6 at 7 p.m. by an illustrated lecture with the promising title of “I survived FASSBINDER – Rudolf Waldemar Brem disseminates Fassbinder’s Big Bang between Sickness of Youth and Katzelmacher.” The actor and director Hans Hirschmüller will also be attending as a guest of honor.
Rudolf Waldemar Brem will be talking about his period of collaboration with Rainer Werner Fassbinder from 1967 to 1974. He first met Fassbinder at the Action-Theater, where he worked with the director on a number of productions, including The Criminals, For Example, Ingolstadt, Katzelmacher and Axel Caesar Haarmann. Following the group’s reformation in mid-1968 as the Anti-Theater, Brem also took part in productions such as Mockinpott, Orgie Ubuh and Ajax. His work with Fassbinder also extended to the Bremer Ensemble, where he later worked under artistic director Kurt Hübner.
Hans Hirschmüller, whose first work in the theater was on the newly founded Anti-Theater’s production of Anarchy in Bavaria, spent 1969/70 as a member of the ensemble at the Theater der Freien Hansestadt Bremen. There he worked with RWF on productions of Coffee House, The Burning Village, Pioneers in Ingolstadt and Bremen Freedom.
